Oatmeal has a New Look?

Now we all know oatmeal is good for our hearts. Well how about Oatmeal Cookies... !

I remade a original and added some craisans, raisins, pecans and honey ,with a touch of Cocoa powder to the original recipe.Not only did it taste even better than the original but is better for you too, less sugars and more natural fruits. 

They go so gooood with a cup of coffee or tea, or even a cold glass of milk, no dunking needed, they are really moist.

I really Love cookies, because as a kid my Mom and I would dunk them in Milk, it was our special time we spent together, laughing and enjoying each others company.

Now sometimes they were store bought Oreo's or Lorna Dunes, or Fig Newtons, but most of the time they were Home Made.

Hot Chocolate tonight!

Ghirardelli  Better Chocolate and it makes the "Best Hot Chocolate drink".

The fall evenings is a perfect time to add this delicious drink to your beverage choices.
Here is the recipe for a cup of deliciousness.

  • 4 0z of 2% milk
  • 40z of Half & Half
  • 40z of Ghirardelli Syrup
  • put all the above in a medium size saucepan and slow heat to 120-130 degrees.
  • Add whip cream and a drizzle of additional syrup to cap off this drink.
Add a good shortbread cookie or a sugar cookie to it and you have the makings...

Soft, chewy ,chuck full of raisins, these oatmeal cookies have a secret ingredient that makes them very addictive.
When I was putting together the recipe and lining up my ingredients,I decided to add a little extra of a couple of things.
It keeps things interesting and recipes can always be tweaked so why not tweak them.
These cookies have nutmeg, cinnamon, and raisin juice, added to them, which puts these cookies on my must have list for Fall.

Lemon Cookies

Finding a good sugar cookie recipe is almost as hard as finding a needle in a haystack.


These wafer thin buttery lemon crisps are melt in your mouth Yum!
Let me draw you a pictured in your mind, light, chewy, moist, and just the right amount of lemon to make your mouth say Yes please!
I like these anytime because they are not a heavy cookie, and you can have (3) @ only 50 calories...
Now you all know how we like more for less!...

Yes I am Guilty as a Jaybird,I'll confess....!Just don't take away my chewy, moist, sweet delights!
Cookies are like Treasure is to a Pirate...
maybe even a Pirate as Scary as Captain Jack Sparrow of 
The Pearl? Yes you guessed it, Pirates from The Caribbean would consider these littlest sweet gems Treasure, very delicious, valuable treasure!
Covered in chocolate & butterscotch morsels, they go boom...

Divadish Kitchens created (4) dozen of  these crunchy & moist cookies in her test kitchens last week.
I took my sugar cookie recipe, cut back on the sugar a tad and added some really crunchy English toffee bits to the dry ingredients. 
Then I thought why not kick in a little more  caramel, so I then added some imported caramel syrup.
What I got besides a Sugar Cookie Niravana high, was the perfect crisp & chewy all at the same time
