The title of Super Cook Cape came from a magazine I recently received this last week, Taste of home.
I usually do not subscribe to magazines but my wonderful granddaughter was selling them @ school for a Education fundraiser and I felt it was a good cause to bend my own rules.I am so glad I did.

The article explains how this woman wears the Super Cape when she is cooking in her kitchen.
Not literally, but figuratively speaking. It was quite interesting really so I decided to share it with all of you, and hopefully some of you can share back with me. I would Love to hear how you got your Super Cooking Cape.
I will post your stories on my blog if you do, and share with America how we are Super Woman all the Way!
And to be Fair I should also include The Super Male Cooking Cape too.
I know some pretty awesome male cooks.

Here is one of my Super Cooking Cape recipes:

Recipe for Cranberry Sauce:

Ingredients:
1/2 c white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup water
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1tsp. orange rind
12 0z of fresh cranberries

Directions:

Place all ingredients in heavy saucepan (except cranberries) dissolve all over medium heat.
Add the cranberries and bring mixture to a boil ( increase heat to med-high) to accomplish this.
Keep stirring or mixture will burn.
Reduce heat again to medium and keep stirring for about (10) minutes.
Mash the berries with a spoon to pop any UN-popped berries, and help thicken sauce.
This is a optional I usually leave it a little chunkier because it tastes better to me and not like the jelly kind.
Cook on low for another 10 minutes Approximately. Remove from heat, let cool, and pour into a bowl. This makes about 2+ cups of cranberry sauce. You will not be sorry you made it. Whats also so cool about this recipe is now you can have fresh sauce all year ;long. It really goes well with just about anything, and taste good as a jam on toast.

I know many of Us have a recipe that our mothers or fathers shared with us, or another family member brought into the family when they joined it.
It is amazing how these wonderful recipes will bring us back to a fond memory or time in our lives.

Mine was my mothers Potato-Pancakes. This recipe has been in our family since my Mom learned it from someone Else's Mom when she was in her 20's, and now she is 86 yrs. old.

It has transcended over (4) generations already and will always be part of our family. When I make these yummy pancakes I go back to our kitchen when my Mom  would say to me, heh, Gianna you want to help Mommy in the kitchen today?
I would always say if I can eat as I am cooking, she would say back so what else is New!...

Recipes are just that, they are snippets of Love shared through Food and we continue it like I did with my Cranberry Sauce recipe and others on this blog, I hope it starts a Super Cook Cape story in your family.

Let me know and Let's start Cooking and bringing families together.
