Who's in the kitchen with Diva... Like the song you can almost always bet it will be Chef Gianna!
I just Love, Love, Love, to Create new or Recreate Old Recipes.
This Apple Pie is one of those recreations, when I lived out East Apple Pie was a big deal, and all the pieces I consumed as a kid always had Ginger in them. Here in Minnesota, that is not the case, I know it is True that state location makes a difference on how you get one thing one way and some where else another.

Well, I like my original taste-buds and the Memories that leave me wanting Ginger in my apple pie recipe.
To satisfy that Craving I recreated my version of Diva's Apple Pie... So are you ready to be WOWED?

  • I took (8) large Breburn Apples, peeled and sliced very thin.
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tbsps of all -purpose flour
  • 1.5 tbsps cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp of ginger
  • 1/2 tsp of nutmeg
  • 7+ cups of apples
  • 1+tbsp of lemon juice
  • 1 pastry crust for double -crusted 10" inch pie pan (Glass Preferred)
  • 2+ tbsps of diced butter
  • 2tbps +Cinnamon Sugar mixed in Milk to brush crust with.

Directions:

In small bowl combine all dry ingredients and set aside.

Toss sliced and pared apples with lemon juice

Add the dry ingredients from small bowl to apples and mix everything till apples are well covered with mixture.

On the bottom crust  brush with mixture of 1/2 tbsp of melted butter & cinnamon & sugar  lightly covered

Save remaining for top crust

Add the apple filling to crust

Dot with diced butter.

Put on top crust flute edges to seal.

Repeat butter and cinnamon sugar brushing on top crust

End with the brushing of milk mixture brushing (lightly)

Cut several slits in top crust.

Bake @ 375' for 30-35 min.

Increase temperature to 400' for the remaining 10-15 min. or until golden brown

Serve warm with or without Vanilla Bean Ice Cream or Whip Cream.

Personally I like my Apple Pie pure and wholesome and you DO NOT NEED ANYTHING ELSE ON THIS ..

It is truly it's own PICASSO.. So satisfy your craving for one of the Best Apple Pie's this side of the NEW YORK STATE Line and make this one for yourself.

If you like to share great, if not you better find a good spot to hide this Baby because it will be Gone Baby Gone in a NY. Minute.!

If you would prefer Diva's Kitchens make it for you, I would be more than Happy to do so.

This would be a Special Order please allow 1-2 days for preparation.

COST IS $48.00 for whole pie serves (8-10) slices

Enjoy your Memory or Make a New One for your Family & Friends!
